What is biodiversity?

Biological Diversity aka biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth and includes all living organisms from microscopic bacteria to the largest animals and plants. It encompasses the diversity of habitats, ecosystems, and genetic diversity within and among species. The importance of biodiversity cannot be overstated as it provides ecosystem services such as air and water purification, soil formation, pollination, and climate regulation. Biodiversity is also crucial for human survival as it provides us with food, medicine, and materials for shelter and clothing.

How can you help preserve nature near you?

Preserving nature is essential to maintain biodiversity and ensure the survival of species. There are many things we can do to preserve nature, such as reducing our carbon footprint, conserving water, and reducing our use of single-use plastics. We can also support conservation efforts and sustainable tourism by choosing eco-friendly accommodations and activities. Volunteering for environmental organizations and educating ourselves and others about the importance of biodiversity is also crucial.
